plus de contraband
I'm "taking a break" from the computer, but I couldn't resist this one in my Xanga surfing. (I'm not allowing myself to check my normal sites because I want them to be all new when I finally allow myself to come back.)
my father thinks I am: One, oppressed but normal. Another, much more promiscuous and daring than I am.
my mother thinks I am: Much more of a hellion/slut/overall bad/ungrateful person than I am.
my siblings think I am: Much better than her, but bitchy.
my grandma thinks I am: Entirely lovely and sweet.
my grandpa thinks I am: Probably antisocial, if he even thinks of me.
my boyfriend/crush thinks I am: Avoiding him, which I was but am not sure I want to be now.
my best friend thinks I am: Hilarious, smart, helpful, and fun.
+ your three best qualities = Intelligence, humor, compassion.
+ three worst qualities = Manipulative, selfish, indecisive.
+ three things you are often complimented for = Being smart, caring/being helpful, understand/giving advice.
+ a compliment you got that made you blush = Whenever people tell me I look pretty or hot because I don't believe it.
+ you get embarrassed by = The obvious but hidden being exposed.
+ makes you happy = Comfort, affection, love, good surprises, light, fun, laughter.
+ upsets you = Stupidity, close-mindedness, confrontation, forced distance, leaving.
yes or no..
+ you keep a diary = Yes, in a way. I have my blogs, and also I have notebooks I write things down in when a computer is not available or I need to capture something immediately.
+ you like to cook = Yes, though I'm pretty awful at it.
+ you have a secret you have not shared with anyone = Yes.
+ you fold your underwear = Yes.
+ you talk in your sleep = Yes, at least I've been told. Which mortifies me because I really hope I don't say anything I'd like to keep to myself! I don't like the idea of me with my defenses down.
+ you set your watch a few minutes ahead = Yes, because I am always late. It'd just be worse if I didn't set the watch ahead. Then again, I can never forget that I've set it ahead, so I don't know if it really helps all that much.
+ you believe in love = Yes. Makes the world go 'round, they say? Yes. Yes, yes, yes, and yes.
last..
x. movie you rented = New York Minute because MK&A made it when they were in the same situation as me. I'd like to see how they put it into film.
x. movie you bought = Amelie. So I can watch it in NY when I get totally depressed.
x. song you listened to = Hollaback Girl, through my voicemail where it was recorded by Zach. I was on the trampoline, and it was kinda nice to have it like a mini mp3 player.
x. song that was stuck in your head = Dirty Little Secret, by the All-American Rejects.
x. song you've downloaded = On my download list is Golddigger by Kanye West, Shake it Off by Mariah Carey, and Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day, but the last one was the latest free Itunes download. I like me some free stuff.
x. CD you bought = The Killers, Hot Fuss. And it was necessary.
x. CD you listened to = Maroon 5, Songs about Jane. Imagine that, I come back to it right when it applies again. Love when that happens.
x. person you've called = Tricia, I left her a message. A long, babbling message that she must not have checked yet because if she had, I have faith she would have called me back. If she cares.
x. person that's called you = Tricia, but she left me a message too because my cell was in my purse and not in my pocket where it should have been.
x. TV show you've watched = Jeopardy. and Beautiful People.
x. person you were thinking of = Tricia there because of the past questions, but Zach before that. For some reason, I completely can't get him off of my mind this evening.
do......
x. you wish you could live somewhere else = No. Seeing as I have to leave little ol' Galloway soon, I'm feeling nostalgic and realizing how much I'll miss it. And seeing as I'm moving to NYC and pretty much know that it's outstanding, I'm a-okay with that. But if someone offered me a deal to still continue a great education for the same or less money in Paris? I'd bite faster than you can freaking imagine.
x. you believe in online dating = Not really. I mean, the physical aspect of a relationship is such a huge deal to me. I like affection. Plus you just can't really tell what kind of person someone is through the Internet.
x. others find you attractive = I would imagine not so, but evidence lately has led to the contrary. Which is sooo weird. Although I imagine when I go to school that might change. Because everyone there (including my roommates) is freaking beautiful. But whatever. I'm not worried/bitter. At all.
x. you want more piercings = Nah.
x. you want more tattoos = I don't have any right now, but I might want one later. If something way significant happens and I get crazy enough. I watched Miami Ink recently and it made me want to get one, but I can't imagine anything I'd like permanent on my body, so we'll see.
x. you drink = Yes. Not dangerously. At least not yet.
x. you do drugs = Nope.
x. you smoke = Nope.
x. you like cleaning = No. I'm pretty messy on the whole.
x. you like roller coasters = Yes.
x. you write in cursive or print = It's my own special combination of the two. Mostly print.
x. you carry a donor card = Yes, a blood donor card. And my license says I'm an organ donor, so yes for that too I guess.
have you..
x. ever cried over a boy/girl = Yes. Is there anyone who hasn't? I mean seriously.
x. ever lied to someone = Yes. Again, is there anyone who hasn't?
x. ever been in a fist fight = Nope.
x. ever been arrested = Nope.
what..
x. shampoo do you use = Paul Mitchell Strong something ... it's pink.
x. perfume do you use = This Island stuff from Avon and some stuff from France.
x. shoes do you wear = Flip flops like, 99.9% of the time. I don't even know what I'm going to take on my move besides them. I practically don't own anything else! I need to go shopping.
x. are you scared of = Separation, the unknown.
number..
x. of times I have been in love? At least once, possibly twice.
x. of times I have had my heart broken? Twice at least.
x. of hearts I have broken? Uno.
x. of boys I have kissed? One really. You can add a few more if you want to take away the really.
x. of people I've slept with? Zero.
x. of people I consider my enemies? None really.
x. of people from high school that I stayed in contact with? Well, it's somewhere around five-ten right now, but I feel that depleting in the future. It's sad, but true.
x. of CDs' that I own? Way, way too many. But the growth rate has dropped off. I have almost no use for CDs anymore. It's my Ipod and laptop all the way.
x. of times my name has appeared in the newspaper? Probably somewhere around 10, maybe more. I haven't counted.
x. of things in my past that I regret? Not that many, but probably more than I'd like.
Now I'm just taking more because that one was fun. Way to not waste time on the computer, right? Well if *anyone* would freaking want to go out with me, I might actually do one of the things I want to do instead of sitting at home feeling like I have no choice but to be on the computer. Ugh.
......:::::::::ALL ABOUT MUSIC:::::::::.....
.......................this or that........................
*Ipods or MP3s: I am addicted to my Ipod. Currently, it's awesome for when I want to escape situations. Or brush my teeth. Or when I first wake up. I like all three of those options. But isn't it ultimately an mp3 player anyway? What I don't like about my Ipod is that I'm going to worry about it constantly in NYC and probably won't even wear it out into the world because I'm afraid of people's motives and I'm pretty sure it'll get stolen, I'll get mugged, and my day/life will be ruined, right after I cry lots and lots, especially because I paid the whole $300 for it. Damn Apple.
*Rock or Pop: Probably pop, because anything "pop" is just popular music, and popular music can go all sorts of ways. I appreciate a good pop song an awful lot. But I do like my rock music.
*R&B or Soul: R&B. I dabble in soul music, but sometimes it feels too pretentious to me. Like I should feel this way, like I'm exploiting it too much.
*Alternative or Rap: Alternative, though it's again a close race. Pretty much all of the alternative music I find makes me want to love it forever, especially because I'm usually the only one who knows about it for awhile. Although you can't beat a good rap song for dance-in-a-parking-lot nights.
*Country or Pop: Pop. It's not that I don't like country, it's just that I don't like it as much as I like pop music. And, my love for country music is really sporadic at times. Unless you're Garth Brooks, then you have my undying love.
<><><><><><><><><><><>
*ocean avenue OR candy shop: Ocean Avenue. I just heart the song a lot.
*lonely OR almost: Almost. Because I don't know what Lonely is.
*in da club OR my happy ending: In Da Club. Let's pick some rap here. Plus, I've had a lot of good times with it. And I know the unedited and edited versions 'cause I'm just that cool. And you have to play it on your birfday. 'Cause they don't give a fuck if it's not your birfday.
*the geeks get the girls OR we belong together: We Belong Together, because I don't know the other one. Even though it sounds promising and I first hated WBT, but you know how that goes.
*you and me OR all the small things: You and Me. Lifehouse is so sweet. I love the nuances of their music, the subtle sort of seduction and love and romance and lilting and feeling like I'm in a sunny field laying down and being happy but sort of tortured and everything's sort of slow and sunny and sweet. Which isn't to say that I don't love Blink182's anthem (work sucks, I know) that gets played at every school dance ever.
*beverly hills OR just the girl: Aww, shit. I really really like both of these songs. I'll ultimately pick Just the Girl for it's kitschy value, and the fact that I saw the video today and all the guys in the band are rocking Beatles haircuts and looking totally hot in it. Although my first instinct was Beverly Hills because I love the sense of humor and Weezer holds a special place in my heart.
*best of you OR sugar, we're goin down: Best of You. I like Sugar, We're Going Down all right (I really just listened to it today), but the faces that guy makes are distracting. And, as soon as I heard Best of You, I knew I loved it. I love Dave Grohl ... I don't know what it is, but I do. And the video is sweeeeeeetness, too. I love the way it starts. And the riffs, omg. Love it.
*don't phunk with my heart OR holiday: Don't Phunk With My Heart. The BEP are sweet. Although, I have loved Green Day for a good while, in that sort of far-away way. I really do enjoy both of the songs, but it's ultimately the funky beat and Fergie's vocals (and the attitude in "can't return it once you bought it" line) that win out.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
*green day OR my chemical romance: MCR. Oh. My. God. I can't even tell you (no, really, I can't ... and haven't told anyone) how hot I think Gerard Way is. It's ridiculous. Really. It is. I know. Trust me, I know. But still, I think he is one of the hottest people I've ever seen, and whenever I see the video for Helena, I get chills from how freaking hot I think he is. O. M. G. I would do that boy. And I think it'd be ridiculously darkly romantic. Even chemically romantic. Ahaha. I crack myself up. I don't not like Green Day, it's just that my romance with Mr. Way (and the band's music and video genius/sense of humor, which is what I originally fell in love with) pulls MCR out on top.
*american hi-fi OR yellowcard: Yellowcard. I haven't heard too much of AH-F. Just "Flavor of the Weak," which is a pretty good song, but I really like Yellowcard's stuff. It has come along at the right time in my life, plus the violin is freaking awesome.
*avril lavigne OR blink-182: Hmm ... blink182. They're energetic, but can be moody, which is really why their songs fit my mood no matter which way it flows at the minute. Again, don't dislike AL, but all her stuff's been overplayed and so it kills me to hear it anymore.
*bowling for soup OR simple plan: Aw, damn you. I'll pick Simple Plan, even though I like them both quite a bit. BFS's "Ohio" is pure genius ... I love "there's nothing wrong with Ohio, except the snow and the rain" and the music surge behind it ... but I like pretty much everything I've ever heard from Simple Plan, even after I've heard it a million times (which is something I can't quite say for BFS ... "1985" is a song I could deal with never hearing again).
*fall out boy OR death cab for cutie: Now I can safely say I don't know enough of either to choose.
*foo fighters OR the killers: !!! I hate you, making me choose!!! I've had a long running romance with the Foo Fighters and especially Mr. Dave Grohl ... I think he's so smart and hilarious and rocking ... but I'm gonna have to pick The Killers because they came into my life like a storm ... I heard "Somebody Told Me" and decided I had to download it and hear it every minute for the rest of my life. And that was until I borrowed the CD from Ashley P. and fell in love with every other song on the CD through the fields of France amidst thoughts and growing feelings for someone I'd pine for later to the sweet music of The Killers once they had gone. So I pick The Killers, mostly for emotional value I've attached to them. But they do rock. And Brandon is hot.
*lifehouse OR relient k: Oh, I like them both. I'll pick Relient K, though. I know more of their stuff. Although, I have a sneaking suspicion that if I got more into Lifehouse, this would be a true battle and they might come out on top.
*weezer OR the click five: Weezer. I don't know Click Five too well, just the experience I described above when I picked their song over Weezers, but you know how it is. I've got emotional attachment to Weezer. It was my first band I liked that made me cool with people who were older than me.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
*have you ever been to a concert: Yes, plenty. Two just within the last two weeks.
*do you want to see a concert: Sure, I'm always up for music. Especially live.
*have you ever gotten an autograph at a concert: Nope, though I'd die to have an autograph from anyone whose concert I've actually gone to, considering I've loved them all, probably in a less than comfortable way. =)
<><><><><><>
*fall out boy OR simple plan: Simple Plan. Don't know FOB all that well.
*bowling for soup OR relient k: Relient K.
*yellowcard OR my chemical romance: Ooo, MCR, even though I love Yellowcard.
*50 cent OR avril lavigne: 50 Cent.
*green day OR blink-182: Green Day.
*akon OR jesse mccartney: I don't really know either of them, but I'll pick Jesse McCartney because I adore how obvious and bubblegum his lyrics are and yet little girls eat them up. Just for humor value. =)
